This Taylor 50th Anniversary Builder's Edition 814ce LTD in Natural is brand new and includes its original hardshell case and manufacturer's warranty. This is an exciting addition to the 50th Anniversary run with a gorgeous sinker Redwood top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. An 800 Series with Builder's Edition appointments, every single thing about this guitar is notable!
Redwood isn't used by every acoustic manufacturer, as it is a pricey timber. However, it is exceptionally toneful! If Cedar and Spruce were hybrid, you'd have something darn close to Redwood. It has all the warmth of cedar but a bit more of the brightness of Spruce. It has a reddish, brown look, especially when trapped under a full-gloss finish. Sinker Redwood comes from a log that has been submerged underwater for years. If the conditions are right, the log stays perfectly preserved! The log gets salvaged, dried, cut up, and sold off. This stuff is expensive, rare, and exceptionally toneful.
The back and sides are made of Indian Rosewood which provides a warm, rich tone. The dark look of this wood looks exquisite with the Redwood top! The use of Rock Maple for the binding adds defining lines to the Grand Auditorium Body.
"The 50th Anniversary Builder’s Edition 814ce LTD celebrates our flagship guitar with an ultra-refined version featuring Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a sinker redwood top. Rosewood's rich lows, sparkling highs and lush overtones complement the redwood's blend of cedar-like warmth and bold projection, all turbocharged by our V-Class bracing. Like its standard Builder's Edition sibling, this model boasts a beveled armrest, beveled cutaway, chamfered edges and a Curve Wing bridge for seamless playing comfort. Limited-edition appointments include a gold-hued mother-of-pearl peghead logo and matching Element inlays, maple purfling around the fretboard and peghead, a green abalone rosette, premium Gotoh 510 tuners, and ebony bridge pins with gold acrylic dots. Finished with a Kona edgeburst and a full-body gloss, this all-purpose Grand Auditorium sports a commemorative 50th anniversary label. Production will be limited to 1,974 guitars worldwide."
